ADOPTED 4/16/03

Read Ryder's story, visit his page!  Meet Ryder's new family :-)

Dakota

        ADOPTED 04/07/03

Dakota has been adopted by his foster parents!  They fell in love with him the moment they found him and he has been such a good little boy, they just can't bear to part with him.  I can tell you, Dakota (Cody as Dad calls him) is one lucky little boy...a better home he couldn't have found!  Stay tuned for pics and updates.

My name is Dakota.  I am an Aussie/Chow mix, approximately 6-months-old (and I'm pretty small).  I also have a natural bob tail (just like an Aussie).  I was found wandering the streets in Glendale and a very nice family took me in.  Right now, I am living with 5 Dobermans and we get along just fine.  However, I am still trying to figure out where in the "pack" I belong, and I do have some dominant tendencies.  I love to jump up and I try to herd you, so I would definitely need some obedience training.  I also love to play ball (I bring the ball back and release it too) and explore and I'm very, very smart (that's what my foster dad says).  What I love most is being with my people.  I like to help my foster dad garden and I really enjoy just cuddling with my foster mom.  I'm a typical puppy, but I can be quite content just hanging out on the patio relaxing with "mom and dad".  As you can see from my pics above, I just LOVE giving kisses!  I'm really doing well with housebreaking and crate training, and I love to ride in the car!

Faith  YIPPEE!!! Faith got adopted!!!

ADOPTED 04/05/03  Meet Faith's new family!

Faith is a little sweetheart, friendly and full of energy.  She is a little more laid back and reserved than her sister, Hope, but enjoys meeting new people.  Faith is totally deaf and has some visual impairment, but gets around just fine.  Crate training is going very well, as is her potty training.  Faith is spayed before adoption as well as had her eyes examined at the eye specialist.

Hey, there's lots of pics...of Faith and her sister Hope...check them out!!!

Aussie Pups    ADOPTED!!!

While these gorgeous little boys were being boarded at the vets, awaiting transport to Phoenix, a couple of vet techs fell in love with them.  They now both have "forever" homes!

These little pups will be arriving this weekend from New Mexico.  They are approximately 4 months old, already neutered and up-to-date on shots.  They were born to a Lethal White Aussie (dad) and a Red Cattle Dog (mom).  They both appear to hear and see just fine.

AJ's Story

      ADOPTED 03/16/03

10/26/03 Paco came to visit us at our October Pets911 event.  Here are some new pics for you to enjoy!

For more pictures, visit  our Franciscan Renewal page

Meet AJ (now known as Paco).  He was in the Apache Junction Shelter for 2 weeks and nobody was interested in adopting or claiming him.  We were contacted about his situation and we followed up.  Debbie from the AJ shelter worked hard to get someone interested in him.  She worked on finding out as much as she could, given her limitations, and took great care of him.  We spoke with Debbie, then Lorraine from Aussielads Aussie Rescue, along with Monica (our great foster home) went to bail him out.  Below are some pics of AJ learning to drive a tractor (thanks to Dad (John).

Here are a few pics of AJ hanging out with Maggie and Jake.

A few trying to pose for a group picture with Mom

What a great foster home, don't you think?  Well, think again...they couldn't resist the charms of a true Aussie...AJ is now part of their family!  Stayed tuned for updates and pics!

Chico         ADOPTED 03/09/03

Chico was adopted!  His name has been changed to Kumu (Hawaiian for "teacher" and "handsome").  Be sure to look for updates on Kumu as his adoptive family, Tamara and Brad Jaffe from Team Canine, (canine obedience and behavior modification) whose philosophy is based on training through communication with your animal!

Here are a few pics of Kumu with some members of his new family!

Chico is a neutered 16-week-old Lethal White Red Merle Aussie sweetheart with a laid back personality.  He is totally deaf and blind and loves playing with the other dogs, especially Toes (Sedona pictured above).  Chico is a sweet little boy who loves being with his foster mom, especially when he's tired...he loves to snuggle.  He loves walking on a leash and meeting new people so he can give everyone kisses.  Chico's kennel training is coming along just fine.   He does get a little excited when you return home (because he's happy to "see" you) and let him out of his crate (all you need to do is open his door and touch him to let him know he can come out).  Chico likes playing outside, but prefers to come indoors after play so he can lay down somewhere comfy and rest.
