Nellie and Daisy have both found great homes!
ADOPTED 06/13/03
Hope was adopted by her foster home who could not bear to part with her. We had a really nice home who was very interested in adopting Hope, but when her foster home realized that she may actually be leaving them, they just couldn't let go. The potential adoptive home was very understanding...and very happy for Hope.
Hey, there's
lots of pics...of Hope and her sister Faith...check
them out!!!

Alex went to a wonderful home where he lives with his new best friend, Tom. He will loves his daily morning walks and has enjoyed meeting family and neighbors. Stay tuned for updates!
Hi, I'm Alex. I am a beautiful 5-year-old neutered Blue Merle Australian Shepherd. I have been an "aussielad" since I was 4 months old, but now I need a new home. It seems that I am somewhat of a bully and need to live in a new home as an only dog. I am NOT dog aggressive, but I do like to pick on other dogs that I live with (it's a "pack" thing). I absolutely LOVE people and enjoy doing things with them. I really enjoy going for rides and meeting new people. This is a very difficult decision for my mom and dad, but they really have no choice. I will be a perfect companion in a home with no other dogs or small children. I like being the center of attention. I really am an AWESOME dog!

An update on Pia: (6/5/03) Pia, the HERO!
Pia is adjusting to the altitude. I have not taken him to the horses yet. I will be taking him on Saturday. He still gets out of breath easy, I see him doing much better. The first week, three or four throws of the Frisbee and he was panting really hard. Now he is going for 10 minutes.
Now here is the latest event...The morning when I went to let them out, Pia had pulled everything off the bottom shelf in the garage. I was so surprised he had been no naughty. Never has he displayed naughty behavior. I took him over and told him he was a "bad boy" and he looked down and felt really bad. A few minutes later, I could hear him barking really strangely so Gene and I ran to see what was wrong with him. There he was with a small rattlesnake! Cyndi, when I came out, he went crazy. I got him into the house and Gene killed the it. The snake had gotten into the garage most likely that evening when the door was opened and the reason everything was pulled from the shelf was because Pia was trying to get at it. I love and loved on him! He wasn't being bad, he was trying to protect us. He was so worried that I was going to go near that snake, he almost had a stroke. He is so smart and loving.
Blessings, Heidi and Pia
Meet Pia (pronounced pie). He is a beautiful 2-year-old Blue Merle Aussie who is just a sweetheart. Pia was rescued from the Verde Valley Shelter in Cottonwood. He came in as a stray when he was dumped in the desert along with 2 other Aussies. As all Aussies are, he is a true "velcro" dog. He gets along well with other dogs and he loves to play ball. Pia is learning some basic obedience commands while living in his foster home (see a pic of him with his foster dad above). He is neutered and up-to-date on shots. Pia is one great Aussie and is available for adoption to a loving home. Pia also gets along well with horses, but not trustworthy with cats!
