Meet the "California Boys" Tristan and Jasper (pictured in that order). A breeder (known to deliberately breed Merle-to-Merle) couldn't sell these Blue Merle Lethal Whites, so he dropped them off at Stanislaus County Animal Services in Modesto, CA to be put down. A very nice lady named Megan who works there put out a plea for help. Lucky for Tristan and Jasper, a very special lady named Abbie who volunteers for Northbay Canine Rescue and Placement got news of their dilemma. On Sunday (11/10/02) Abbie left a message on our voice mail asking for help, but she couldn't wait. She got them before their time was up and took them to Oakland SPCA, where another very nice lady named Kathy agreed to take them in. Once we made contact with Abbie and Kathy, we needed to make arrangements to get those boys here to Phoenix. When our good friend Marilyn, creator of Paws Of Love and by great luck, a pilot who happens to have a plane, heard about our situation she acted quickly. Marilyn made all the necessary contacts and arrangements and by Tuesday (11/12/02), the boys landed safely at Deer Valley Airport. After lots of hugs and kisses and excitement (pics aren't great...hard to get moving target. Better pics to come soon), Tristan and Jasper were sound asleep on the ride home with their Foster Mom, Lorraine (mom of Sedona and Sage).
Tristan and Jasper are littermates, approximately 10 weeks old. They are both extremely social and friendly. Their tails are docked and they have received their first set of booster shots. The Arizona Animal Welfare League has generously agreed to provide all their necessary shots, along with their neuter surgery. Tristan is deaf and has limited vision in one eye. We believe Jasper is deaf (although he may have slight hearing), and his vision appears normal. There are currently being housebroken and crate-trained. Lorraine will work on training them with hand signals while they are in her care. If you are interested in adopting either Tristan or Jasper (or both), please complete and return our adoption application for consideration.

Here's a cute pic of them together. Is that a yawn from Jasper?
While Jasper rested, Tristan felt the need to explore and help out with the yard work.
After all that hard work, a good rest is needed!
