DC Ranch 2003

The Pets911 Special Adoption Event held on Saturday, April 26, 2003 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at DC Ranch located at Market Street Park in Scottsdale, AZ was a wonderful event!

Aussielads Aussie Rescue set up a table for the Lethal White Awareness Campaign to distribute materials and help educate the public about the dangers of Merle-to-Merle breeding of Australian Shepherds.  This event, our special guest was Dolci (blind and deaf) who was kind enough to do a great demo of tricks taught by touch (by her proud parents Teresa and Caitlin).  Also joining us was Amadeo (Ryder) who is deaf and he got to show off his talents (at 10 weeks old). And of course, Boomer always comes to our events to show what a Blue Merle Aussie should look like...thanks Boomer!   It was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to see how smart and loving these dogs can be, and to let people know the ones that already exist deserve a second chance in a forever home.

We were a little short handed this event, so we don't have as many pictures as we'd like, but we do have some to share.  We even had some of our adopted non-special needs Aussies (like Paco) stop by to say hello.  Enjoy!
