Faith's New Family

Okay, I promised Faith's new Mom that I would do this...YIPPEE!!! Faith got adopted!!! (we always keep our promises). :-)

Seriously, Faith is one lucky little girl!  Please know that when Laura and Mark met the girls, they really wanted to take them both.  Deciding between Faith and Hope was almost impossible, but Faith was the best suited for their family.  You will meet Lolli (magnificent Aussie/Border Collie mix) a (little) shy sweet, loveable Aussie and Widget (I'm in love!) mix of many wonderful breeds (14 years old) and the most determined to "get around" (despite old age and sore joints) dog I've ever met!!!  Since Lolli is such a sweetie, but a little on the shy side, Faith's personality was best suited as a playmate.  And so, a difficult decision was based on Lolli and Widget's needs, as well as Faith's.

Sit back, relax and enjoy the pics from beginning until end.

Here's some great pics and an update from August, 2003!

Dear Cyndi and Lorraine:  Sorry we haven't sooner, but even with the best intentions, there's never enough time!  Just wanted to give you a brief update on Faith (alias Rambo 'cause she can really be a terror sometimes and Billy Idol 'cause that's who she looks like).  At first, we called her Helen because she reminded us of Helen Keller before "Teacher" taught her some manners.

She has calmed down some, but we have to watch her constantly because she chews everything (our new spa cover, our couch, the walls, Lolli).  We are hoping (and praying) she'll grow out if it soon.

Faith loves us, but she really adores her sister.  Lolli is very tolerant and let's Faith chew on her until she cries, which of course Faith can't hear.  We just wish she'd give her a good nip once in awhile, but it's just not in her nature.

We took Faith for her first adventure the end of June.  We went camping and boating up on the Mogollan Rim near Prescott.  Faith loved it!  She and Lolli went tearing around in the water, the mud and the woods.  Faith learned very quickly when they played, she had to keep her sister in sight.  She was pretty good, except that she developed a very annoying habit of barking uncontrollably when another camper walked past our camp site.  And, during the night, when bored, she chewed shoes, the rug and the doggie bed.

In another couple of weeks, we'll be heading up to the mountains again, but this time to the Chiricahua's.  (We'll send pictures of both camping adventures in the near future).

We enclosed a few pictures of Faith, but since Lorraine couldn't part with Hope, you pretty much know what Faith looks like.  As she's grown, it appears that her mouth is slightly deformed - the right side of her jaw juts down and out, which sort of gives her a permanent sneer.  (You can see this in the picture of Faith in the bathtub).  Lolli is included in a few of the pictures, too.  Widget is still hanging in there, although she's not in any of the pictures.  She prefers to avoid the "annoying puppy", if possible.

We've included a small donation to help with the California puppies.  They sound adorable, but we're not as strong and energetic as Lorraine - just one puppy keeps us worn out!
