Max is one lucky little boy! He has been in foster care with Amy and Randy shortly after arriving in Phoenix. Earlier this week, we received a very promising application for adoption on Max. We contacted Amy to prepare her that someone who appeared to be a really good home for Max was interested in meeting him. She conferred with her family and they all agreed that Max deserved a new family of his own. However, the next morning, Amy called to let us know that Max already was part of a family that loved him very much...they just couldn't bear to let him go :-). Max has already learned many great tricks using hand signs and soon he will get a chance to see if agility is something he enjoys! We thank that "interested party" in understanding that Max's family just couldn't give him up. Please be sure to check back for updates on Max. Here are some pics with his new family.

Mad Max (named after the Mel Gibson
character, seeing how their both Australian) is quite the energetic puppy.
He is very alert and
even though he can't hear, he is incredibly smart.
We have had him since
July 19 and he has already learned come & sit signals.
We are still working on a stay signal,
but he's a puppy that can't sit still for long!
He also is starting to walk to the door when he has to go out
(as opposed to being carried out the door in a hurry).
Like his brother
(Marco aka Mr. Blue) Max also enjoys dipping his feet in his water, not to
mention trying to dig to China while he's there.
Max loves to play with his foster sister Ali
(white Boxer). I think
his favorite thing to do is try to hide rawhide bones so that Ali can't find
them. Max tucks them into tiny places that she
can't get into and gets them out when she isn't looking.
:-)
Max is very
affectionate and loving. He enjoys giving puppy
kisses to everybody (human & canine). If you
didn't know that Max was hearing impaired you would think he was your average
happy puppy. His disability doesn't slow him
down at all!!
Here are some great new pictures. Enjoy
More playing with Ali
Mr. Red
(now named Mad Max)
(puppy I picked up from Michele) a.k.a. devil puppy (very faded blue
merle) He can see out of both
eyes, but is deaf. He loves to tug and play with a
ball. He is insane - go go go - all the time. He's the most
dominant of the litter - and he thinks it
should be his way or the highway. HE HE HE He
should go to a performance home - or he'll drive his
owners crazy. He may
not be able to hear, but he can still play agility or flyball, maybe
even herd with the right training! He LOVES to follow me all over the
place. He received his "puppy shots, etc" and
was 6.8 lbs on Thursday. He's the second biggest of
the litter.Check back for more pics and updates!
