NEW FRIENDS

all colors.gif (4087 bytes)

We've "met" some great new friends through our web site and we'd like to share some of them with you.  Our friends consist of visitors willing to share their 4-footed friends with us, others are families that were looking to increase their number and have contacted us and some friends have shared our lives.  We were placing our new friends on the "fun pics" page, but that's getting rather crowded, so we made a new page to share.  You'll also see some "old" friends here as well.  Enjoy!

Pictures of the Dillon-Thomas pack

Elisha, my life partner, is the one on the left while I'm on the right.  Indigo Blue, a half beagle and whatever ran up the driveway is on the left.  She was taken off Elisha's parent's farm in central Texas.  She is our delicate tummy, thinks she's a big dog one.  Next to her is Other Jade (yes that is her real name.  She came with it and it stuck).  Oti, as we call her, is Indigo's niece, and had three knee reconstructive surgeries before she was 18 months old.  She is very unsure of herself, but is the nicest baby.  Next is Moejo Reighn.  Moejo will be 13 years old this year, and is completely blind from hereditary retinal degeneration.  She was my first dog and my alter-ego.  Then of course is Angel Burgundy, affectionately know as Baby Bump (can you guess why???).  She has no hearing and limited sight (contrast and some movement).  We currently live in northern Utah and that
was out on a hike in November.  Other pictures are pretty self-explanatory.  In the one with Other and Indigo, you can see just how alike they look (we often call them frick and frack).

And if you haven't visited Angel's page on the Handicapped pets webpage, it now has a counter.  That means that every time someone checks it out, money is donated to a rescue!!!  Quite the excellent cause.  Click the link below and then scroll down to read Angel's story.  http://www.handicappedpets.com/gal04/index6.htm

Joy and Family

Joy was our very first "foster Aussie" in September of 1998.  On October 3, 1998, Joy found her "forever" family with the Butlers, who have always sent pics, updates and donations to our rescue.  Joy was our first successful adoption which ultimately led to Aussielads Aussie Rescue.  We are forever grateful for that wonderful "beginning" that led to a very rewarding 4 years.  Thank you Butler Family...for giving us the confidence to recognize the "right family for the right Aussie", but mostly for the wonderful life you have given Joy.

Maggie, a wonderful Wheaton Terrier

Maggie is 6 years old and in January, 2000 she had a stroke.  Her Dad found her laying, unable to get up (she could only move her head)...she was paralyzed.  Maggie spent nearly 10 days in intensive care and and well over a month in extensive therapy.  Today, Maggie's right rear leg is still weak and her right front leg cannot come forward, although she has some side motion.  She has managed to adapt to her situation and continues to lead a normal, loving life. Check out some pics of her playing with Yahto at Christmas.

Ayres Gang

Here are some pics of Sedona enjoying life at her new home during Christmas, along with Molly (even one doing agility), Josie (I hate pics) & Sage
