Sedona Kids (Sundance & Cassidy)

Their Story

12/02/03 Cassidy and Sundance had their follow-up Vet visit on 11/21/03. They are completely over their kennel cough and are now 2 very healthy pups. Sundance weighed in at 11.5 lbs. and Cassidy was 8.6 lbs. Here are some pics of their Vet visit.

They are currently being fostered, along with Cody, where they are all being potty trained (with a lot of help from Morgan and K.C.). Here are some new pictures of all living the good life. Enjoy!

11/12/03 Cassidy and Sundance had their first vet visit today. Cassidy weighs 7.2 lbs and Sundance is 9.2 lbs. At this time, they are both experiencing mild upper respiratory infections. They will be monitored closely and antibiotics will be administered should this viral infection advance to kennel cough. As with all unvaccinated animals, spending any amount of time in a shelter environment always compromises their health. Since they arrived at the Humane Society of Sedona at the age of 4 weeks and not yet vaccinated, they were extremely vulnerable to all infections and/or diseases present in the shelter, even though their stay was only a few days. We will keep you posted on their condition. Our main concern during this vet visit was their infection, so we have not yet determined the extent of Cassidy sight or hearing impairment. All paws are crossed here for their speedy recovery! Enjoy some of their latest pictures.

11/07/03 These precious 4-week-old babies were turned into The Humane Society of Sedona. Once they realized that the little girl (Cassidy) definitely had vision problems, they contacted us. Since they are siblings, and so young, they released both of them to us. At this young age, it is important for them to be together, so they are now both in foster care, sharing their home with Presto and Budda. They will have their "Vet Visit" at Best Friends Animal Hospital in Mesa next week. Please check back for those pictures :-) Sundance appears to be a self Merle (no copper/white trim) with the most beautiful slate-blue colored eyes, and Cassidy is a Blue Merle Lethal White with the softest, silkiest fur ever. They have been dewormed and received their first booster (thanks to Sedona Humane Society). At this time, we do know that Cassidy is blind in one eye and can see some things from the other. We will post all the information after their vet visit. Since they just arrived and everything was new, we have not yet determined her hearing disabilities. These pups will be spayed/neutered and up-to-date on shots before going to their forever homes.
